Student Life

Students in HUB lounge

UCR endeavors to help all students succeed through comprehensive learning and living communities where individuals with shared cultural and/or academic interests can come together with the support of a specialized student staff programming team. The UCR Guardian Scholars is one of these communities with tailored programming to benefit our students who have aged out of the foster care system. In addition to student life resources below, the Guardian Scholar special interest programming team hosts monthly "family style" dinners in our various residential restaurants to provide community building opportunities for our residents and a venue through which informal dinners with mentors, community advocates, and others can be organized. Guardian Scholar Programming also includes annual holiday and end-of-year celebrations, a yearly fund raising event, and special outings and activities.
